CLUB FAQ

  • SCHEDULE

We are on a year long model with official tryouts and new team formation in May each year, however we always welcome new players looking for a place to play! Teams play a Fall and Spring season with breaks over summer and winter (length of breaks depend on age and playing level of the team).

Fall season training generally begins the first of August and breaks in November/early December. Games are played on weekends-will all home games being played on our local Foster City fields and most away games are up and down the Peninsula, within 30 minutes of Foster City. League play generally consists of 8-12 games. Our club hosts the Soccer by the Bay Tournament in mid august each year for teams U8-U19.

Spring season training generally begins in late February/early March and ends in late May/mid June. Spring includes participation in the annual Peninsula Cup tournament for U8-U12 teams.

The club offers various camps and clinics throughout the year for those players that are seeking more opportunity. These include winter skills clinics, winter position specific clinics, summer ProCamps, a Spring break camp, keeper/striker clinics, Speed, strength, and agility clinics, goalkeeper training, and a Peninsula College Night. Events will be posted on our website throughout the year. Please inquire with Directors of coaching Val Henderson hendersonpysc@gmail.com or Mike Sharabi mikesharabi@gmail.com with needs.

    i. Teamwork

    ii. Development

    iii. Enjoyment

    iv. Respect

    v. Family

  • PENINSULA STYLE OF PLAY

Peninsula Style of Play Players will develop a strong technical base so they can solve pressure in tight spaces. They will play an attacking style possession. Players will learn to make their own decisions on the field and will not rely on coaches to direct them during the game. Creativity and player problem solving will be highly valued. We will cultivate a strong sense of team and community so that players feel proud to wear the Peninsula jersey and represent their club.

  • PENINSULA PRICING PROJECTION

Each team has slightly different cost, as some teams add extra tournaments, trainings, and team activities. These extras are agreed upon by coach and team in advance of the season. Please email us for general pricing projections.

  • PENINSULA CLUB SOCCER VS. REC SOCCER

Historically recreational soccer has been a program with the main emphasis on having fun. Most coaches are parent volunteers. Rec soccer has been known to provide really great entry experiences into soccer. Many of our club players started with rec and moved t o club soccer once they were ready for a bit more challenge and direction.

Club soccer at Peninsula Soccer Club provides licensed, professional coaches who are trained and experienced in developing players. Many of our coaches have played at the collegiate, professional, or semi-professional level. Coaches follow a tested curriculum to help develop and advance your players. FUN is still a huge focus in club soccer as fun is the reason we play the game. We believe that players have the most fun when they are truly becoming better players and learning to work towards a common goal with their team. Emphasis is put on team building, leadership, and teamwork.

  • CAN MY DAUGHTER OR SON PLAY MULTIPLE SPORTS AND STILL PLAY FOR PENINSULA?

Many of our players participate in alternative sports. We encourage children to explore their other interests and partake in their school activities. We do ask, however, that players prioritize Peninsula practices and games. In order to maximize your development and honor your teammates, we ask that you plan to attend every practice and competition you can. We ask that all players who have competing activities to be transparent and communicative about conflicts from the beginning of the season. This helps us make a better experience for all players.
